How do we build a life that will last

Psalm 127:1-3 A song of ascents. Of Solomon. Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.

Psalm 127:1-3 A song of ascents. Of Solomon. Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.

  1. God is Sovereign

Understand that your God is sovereign.  He possesses supreme AND ultimate power!  The truth of God’s sovereignty is clearly taught throughout Scripture, and it is clearly taught in this passage of scripture.

No amount of human willpower could ever overturn the sovereign plan of God. “Unless the LORD builds the house, they that build it labor in vain,

  1. Don’t ever imagine that you can achieve anything lasting or significant apart from Him and His sovereignty.MATT 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

2nd Point how to build your life to last!

  1. Together
I say together because it is a partnership, because faith in God without works is dead, and yet works without faith in God here tells us it is futile, but together we get the job done!!!
Quote: One man plus God is a MAJORITY – Brother Andrews
1 Corinthians 3:8-9: says “every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. For we are labourers together with God.” That is the very lesson of our passage.
“We are labourers together with God.”

3. Follow His Blueprint

  1. When you realise that God is the master builder, He then has the master plan and there’s no point building without the Blueprint.
To know what to do isn’t always good enough, doesn’t mean you’ll follow the plan
  2. You must have a Fear of The Lord
    EXPERIMENT

    1. I asked my kids…would you fight and say horrible words in front of Grandad? NO!! no way…. Why I said?
    2. If Grandad went to the shops and told you not to go in the garage, would you go there when he had left? NO, because he wouldn’t be happy with us..
  • What about if it was your sister?Proverbs: 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom
You want wisdom, you have to begin with The Fear of The Lord
